Thousands of volunteers turned up for the Coop’s Walk for Manila Bay Cleanup last October 07, 2017 at the Manila Bay area, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City which was participated by Sharp (Phils.) Corporation (SPC) employees in cooperation with Ugnayang Pangkabuhayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

Determined to restore the natural beauty of the historic Manila Bay area, SPC employees joined in another extensive cleanup by collecting garbage of everyday items washed at one of the country’s longest natural coastlines.

“Manila Bay has always been a tourist magnet because of its beautiful sunset and historical site. We have one objective here, that is to return Manila Bay to its pristine state. We would like to rekindle our support and cooperation to restore the now polluted bay “said Elaine Teologo from Quality Control department, one of those who participated in the cleanup drive for the first time.

The annual event in Manila Bay Cleanup aims to bring together different stakeholders, companies, cooperatives, Local Government Units, environmentalist and volunteers of preserving the nature particularly the Manila Bay.

Several shoreline drives have been organized in Manila for the past weeks as part of the International Coastal Cleanup, the world’s largest volunteer effort for the ocean and waterways preservations.
