SPC Joins Brigada Eskwela 2018 (National Schools Maintenance Week)
Sharp (Phils.) Corporation (SPC) in partnership with Ugnayang Pangkabuhayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (UPMPC) participated in this years’ Brigada Eskwela 2018. Brigada Eskwela or The National Schools’ Maintenance Week is an annual cleanup effort initiated by the Department of Education (DepEd). It’s an annual volunteerism campaign to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year in June 4, 2018.
This year’s Brigada carries the theme, “Pagkakaisa Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.” This intends to raise awareness and provide guidance to schools and education partners in ensuring safety and preparedness before, during and after emergencies.
SPC and UPMPC joined together in this activity to help improve the school desks of Sucat Elementary School Annex Zone 3. Painting materials, services and Sharp wall fan were donated. SPC employees rendered services and were able to paint 35 classroom desks.
The school is situated in Sitio Pagkakaisa, Sucat, Muntinlupa City. The school building has only six (6) classrooms for 778 learners from kindergarten to Grade 6. It was donated by a foundation and it was only turned into a complete elementary education in June 2016.
Brigada Eskwela campaign ensures that all children enjoy their right to learn. This year’s Brigada Eskwela theme calls for a united effort and shared community responsibility in making schools ready and safe for children.
